What is a seasonal allergy?

A seasonal allergy is when you experience sneezing, stuffy nose, coughing, itchy eyes, or other symptoms during a particular season. Seasonal allergies tend to be most common in the spring.

How do you treat seasonal allergies?

Start with the following treatment (ideally 2 to 4 weeks before your allergy season begins):

Seasonal allergies treatment options

If the treatment above doesn’t provide relief, add 10mg of Zyrtec every night.

Anything else I can do for allergy relief?

Remove allergens from your home environment:

  • Keep your windows closed
  • Use a HEPA air purifier in your home or bedroom
  • Use a humidifier in winter and a dehumidifier in summer

If your symptoms are chronic and severe:

  • Use an anti-allergen mattress cover and pillow cases
  • Choose allergen-resistant comforters and pillows (instead of down)
  • Avoid rugs at home, if possible
  • Talk to your Firefly care team about whether allergen desensitization by a specialist might be right for you
