Your Firefly care team has prescribed Zepbound to help manage your weight. Here’s what to know about it.

What is Zepbound?

Zepbound is a medication that helps lessen your hunger and food cravings. While using Zepbound, you’ll also work with your Firefly health guide on your physical activity and eating habits.

How do I use Zepbound?

You’ll inject yourself using a special pen that has the medication pre-loaded. The pen makes it so you don’t need to see or handle the needle.

Carefully read the directions that come with the pen, and check out the Zepbound website for a video demo and more details.

How often do I use Zepbound?

You’ll use Zepbound once a week.

How much Zepbound do I use each time?

You’ll use a small amount to start, and then we’ll slowly raise your dose over four months. We take this approach to make sure your body can handle the medication. Contact us right away if you have vomiting, severe pain in your belly, or other new symptoms.

Here’s your Zepbound schedule:

  • Month 1: 2.5 mg once a week for 4 weeks
  • Month 2: 5 mg once a week for 4 weeks
  • Month 3: 7.5 mg once a week for 4 weeks
  • Month 4: 10 mg once a week for 4 weeks

You’ll reach the full dose at month 4 — keep taking this amount. We’ll check in regularly to see if staying on Zepbound is right for you.

Where will I pick up my Zepbound?

We’ve already sent your prescription for each dose to the pharmacy. We recommend picking up only the dose you currently need. It’s less to manage and you may need insurance approval for each dose. Let us know if you run into any issues with your insurance.

Where can I get more information about Zepbound?

The Zepbound website is full of information, including how Zepbound works, how to store it, how to use the pen, and more. And of course, you can always send your Firefly care team a chat in the app!
