Your key to more affordable healthcare

What is a Care Key?

For eligible providers, we can issue you a Care Key, a waiver that lowers your costs to the lowest possible cost to you, and ensures you’re getting the best care. Talk about a win-win.

Finding a great doctor can be a challenge. We believe you shouldn't have to choose between a top-quality provider and an affordable one.

Need a Care Key? Reach out first.

Anytime you or your child need a new provider or are receiving a new service, reach out as far in advance as possible for Care Key eligible providers/services via the Firefly app before seeking or receiving care.

Let us know what you need, including the provider and service type (e.g. an office visit, a procedure, lab test, or exam). We’ll reply during business hours (7am-7pm EST).

Our navigation team will do the research based on your location, the type of provider and service you need, and take into account preferences you have, like the gender of the provider.

How to use your Care Key

To make sure your Care Key works as expected, it's important to know the three simple criteria for a covered visit. A Care Keys will cover:

1.

A specific provider, facility, and location

Only the provider (doctor, specialist, etc), at the location specified, qualifies, even if other providers practice at the same clinic.

2.

Only a specific service

Care Keys apply to only a specific service, even if other services are performed same day, (such as an office visit AND labwork), you would need a separate Care Key for the labwork.

3.

Within certain limitations

(e.g., before an expiration date, or within a limit count)

Your Care Key might have an expiration date, a visit count limit or other types of limitations.

How do we determine which providers and facilities qualify?

We all want the best possible care for ourselves and our loved ones. But the truth is, not all providers are the same. Providers in a network can differ a lot in the quality of care they provide, the outcomes they get, and their cost to both you and your employer.

We do the research, you get the best care

We use thousands of data points to identify the best doctors and specialists in our network. We simply want to connect you with providers who have a proven track record of great results, based on factors like their procedure success rates, complications, and cost-effective care.

When you see these high-quality providers, you'll earn a Care Key, which makes your care even more affordable. It's our way of helping you get the best care possible while keeping more money in your pocket.

How to use your Care Key during your visit

Verify the provider’s name, location, and any details on the Care Key before visiting the provider. If you have any questions about the Care Key you have been issued, reach out by chat in the Firefly app.

When you visit the provider, show the front desk your Firefly ID and Care Key in the Firefly app and explain that you have a waiver that reduces the member cost share, but does not impact the provider allowed amounts.

If they have questions, direct them to call Firefly at the phone number on the back of your Firefly ID card.
